Detail
Instructions
1. Stamp and emboss all images and Chinese letters with Jet Black ink on heavyweight vellum as shown. Using Fantastix, brush each image with inks at edges of designs and pull inks to center of images with dry side of Fantastix to create shading as shown. Trim all pieces leaving a small border around each design.
2. Adhere images with foam tape to wood slats (not directly on paper shell). Hole punch each corner of Chinese letters and string all in a chain with red ribbon. Hang ribbon "garland" on lanturn as shown. Sand lightly a small vertical line on each corner wood slat. Add small drop of hot glue at handle of chopstick and secure to sanded line, inserting tip under ribbon. Repeat at each corner of lanturn and pull ribbon tight.
3. Secure bamboo to each panel of lanturn with foam tape on paper shell (tape will not show through leaves when lit). Hot glue two chopsticks to each other at crossroads (do not glue to top of lanturn; you will need to remove this to change the light bulb). Stamp Chinese seal with Satin Red ink, cut out and mount to tassel with small wire and beads as shown. Suspend tassel with chopsticks over center of lamp to finish.
