Follow the instructions below to make this beautiful scrapbook page
using Liquid Appliqué.
Fun in the Sun
Bold three-color combinations can have a lot of impact on a page. In contrast, I used a mini-book and a 12 x 12 format to showcase not one but five photos.
Supplies
Yellow Liquid Appliqué - Marvy Uchida
White Pigment Ink - Tsukineko
Large Sun Foam Stamp - Rubber Stampede
12 x 12 Cloud Printed Paper - Wubie Prints
1" Calligraphy Lettering Stencil - Scrappagerz
Cardstock -
white, yellow, navy blue
Detail of mini-book
Instructions
1. Sponge white pigment ink on sun stamp. Dab on yellow Liquid Appliqué over white ink and take out any Liquid Appliqué from stamp recesses. Stamp navy cardstock and heat or allow to dry overnight.
2. Cut 1/2" from bottom of cloud paper and cut in half. Accordion fold one long strip into two 4-1/4" rectangles leaving the last rectangle at 3-1/4". Repeat with second strip and tape 3-1/4" rectangle to back of the first strip's 4-1/4" rectangle.
3. Repeat step 1 with sun stamp (omitting center portion of stamp) on top 3-1/4" panel (stamping on top of fold line as shown). Silhouette-cut sun rays stopping at fold line. Affix white cardstock over holes on both sides of paper as shown. (This hides the ugly holes from cuts, provides white space for journaling, and reinforces the flaps). Add journaling and matted photos inside.
4. Dab yellow Liquid Appliqué through lettering stencil onto white cardstock and cut out. Mount to page as shown. Add freehand-cut wavy mats to photos. Cut blue cardstock in waves and affix all elements as shown.
