A Year Of Change

1996 was a year of change for our family. The four seasons represent the changes we see all around us. I sought to add more detail to these decorative accents to reflect the added color and dimension of our "new surroundings" in 1996.

I color copied this photo on lilac cardstock. This enabled me to scratch the photo's edges and to paint Liquid Appliqué on the flowers behind her as well as on the vellum.

Bold three-color combinations can have a lot of impact on a page. In contrast, I used a mini-book and a 12 x 12 format to showcase not one but five photos.
Ivy Border

Soft sponging of Liquid Appliqué over colored ivy adds a lacey layer of texture to this earthy border. Consider ivy accents for college photos, photos of homes, or photos of ivy covered architecture.

Johnny's jumping and high flying white hair inspired me to add white highlights to everything on this page. The painted floral paper provides an easy "road map" to follow when adding textured highlights. Brushing Liquid Appliqué over the photos ties it all together.

My niece, Sally Rose, is center stage in this simplified scrapbook page. Red and white bumpy hearts, made from sponge stamping Liquid Appliqué, play all around her. Torn edges and simple sticker and button accents poke fun at formal "portrait style" scrapbooking.
